14 week miscarriage/D&C

Hi I recently lost my baby girl and had to have a D&C done... I had a lot of bleeding and lost 2 liters of blood during procedure. This whole thing has been a terrible nightmare. I wanted to know how long after miscarriage is it safe to start trying again. Also is rectul pain normal? When I sir down too suddenly or just standing still I'll have sharp pain )sorry TMI) I'm very sad over our baby's loss but am ready to start trying again...and not to mention scared. Any advice, words of wisdom would be much appreciated. Thanks <3

Thanks everyone, I had a series of blood work done over the past week. My doctor is going to test very avenue as he's concerned about possible clotting which he said could be treated but I of course would rather not have anything wrong at all!

I went through the exact same thing at the beginning of the year. My doctor said as long as I have no pain and am ready, immediately after is the best time. Your hormones are all over the place amd it's the easiest time to get pregnant again. We got pregnant not even a month and a half after losing our first. Best wishes to you and your significant other in your time of loss. Just keep your chin up and keep trying!

First off I'm so so sorry for your loss of your baby ESP at 14 weeks! I had a mc in July my baby was 8 weeks however It wasn't confirmed I was pregnant until I lost the baby, but with that said I was in such pain and shock it was horrible!! I had my normal period when I lost my baby and then another one in Aug and in that cycle I got pregnant. Just make sure that you have no more hcg in your body and give yourself at least 2 months. Just because you were a little further then me. It sometimes still gets nerve wrecking when my stomach hurts or when I get cramps but I just have to relax. So I know you can do it too'! Hopefully soon you'll be pregnant again but it will never cover all the heartache of the one you miscarried I still think of the baby I lost and I'm 15w with another baby!

Clair2015,
I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks last year in June and had a dnc. The Dr also told me that i could try again after 2 regular periods. So since i'm so regular my period came on time the following two months. In October of the same year i found out i was pregnant (2months after miscarriage) and had another miscarriage at 5 weeks. After that i decided to wait longer. So i wanted almost 6 months and in April of this year i found out i was pregnant and now i'm 33 weeks and 2 days. Due Jan 3 2015. I think its worth the wait. :)

I just had a miscarriage September 19th. Found out during my first ultrasound. I had the D&C done the next day. My doctor told me that it was safe to try after my first menstrual cycle but it could take up to 3 months to regulate back. I got it exactly a month later and just found out I'm pregnant again. My doctor explained that you need to use prevention until after your first cycle because your lining needs to rebuild itself/heal. he also said I would be lost fertile the 6 months following the surgery. Good luck!

So sorry for your loss. I had a DnC done due to my body not realizing the baby had passed. I was only 10 weeks though. The pain is probably a normal thing, but of course
With all medical procedures if you have any concerns talk with your doc. As for when I tried again I started trying near the end of December. It'll be a year this Black Friday that I had the DnC. But I did not get pregnant right away, it took us till April to get that positive result. If you are still bleeding wait till it completely stops of course to be intimate again.

I had a miscarriage at 20 weeks I know it's hard but you should wait till you've had 2 normal cycles before you try to conceive again to make sure your body is recovered and strong enough to hold a new pregnancy

I lost mine at 8wks- my dr suggested I wait the 2 months, but heard you are super fertile right afterwards. I ended up getting pregnant about 2 wks after the miscarriage and now I'm due in 15 days. I think the drs suggest to wait for a few reasons- 1 to make sure u r fully healed, but the other is to really determine when u got preg and when u r due. Good luck!

Thank you for your comments and advice! I'm feeling better these days except for persistent ache in right lower abdomen. Seeing doctors for it and they said it's normal but it's worrisome. I won't be trying for a few months. Too scared  and do NOT feel healed enough to try right now. Hope and pray all your pregnancies go well!

I had a blighted ovum back in dec I decided to naturally pass it so that happened in Jan my doctor advised me to wait 2 periods....I have the miscarriage and then 2 normal periods after and then I was pregnant again...its been scary and nerve racking at times but I'm 27 weeks today....I would say keep the faith a beautiful child will come to you all in Gods timing....good luck I'm sure everything will be fine the next go round :)

You are not supposed to try again until you have like 2 normal periods. As for being scared I have not helpful advice. I'm 18 weeks and still paranoid of another miscarriage.
