posterior cervix?

Long story short I am miserable and ended up in labor and delivery last night at 38 and 4 due to being light headed dizzy nauseous and seeing spots. They checked me and the nurse said my cervix was "extremely posterior" but didn't explain anything about what this could mean. Apparently I am only 1cm dilated and 70% effaced as well. Anyone else been told this or know what it means?  Am I not going to be able to go into labor on my own?

My dr hasn't said anything about a c section yet but due to many other issues a high risk pregnancy and so many other reasons if she says anything about it at all I am going to request her to schedule it asap. I don't know how I am going to make it to my due date at this point without having a mental break down

Your right Vanessa8887..Same with me..I had 2 great vaginal birth even thou my dr was always telling me that my cervix is flat/ in the back.. etc..and I might end up with a c section. .that never happened and I hope my 3rd labor will go fine as well.

I have the same thing painful yo get checked but I've delivered to healthy boys with no problem. It juss depends on your body I don't think it has any thing to do with posterior cervix cuss I did juss fine other ppl have normal cervix and never dialate so its all up to your body really. Good luck with everything tho

I don't know if you will be able to go on your own since I was induced both times with my boys..due to different reasons..and this time I can have an elective induction at 39 wks if I want to..But my midwife said that there are a lots of women who have a cervix that stays far back until labor starts! Good luck!!

Did she had a hard time reaching it? My cervix is way in the back and with every pregnancy my dr had a hard time reaching it and it was painful for me to be checked.
