No u shouldve told them because there gonna need back up for when u go on maternity leave as a boss of a dental practice head hygienist I would hv to tell them because what about the patients future planning and some places now require a letter from obgyn that ur ok to work to cover themselves..
I don't think it was wrong at all, thats medical information that they are not privy to and them asking you would be a violation of your rights. They cant discriminate based on a medical condition. When I was pregnant with my first I got hired when I was 5 months pregnant and I didnt tell them. I felt it had no relevance to my ability to do the job-- which is true-- and it doesn't. The only concern I have is that your due date is right around the corner and if you leave your current job for another one, you may not be eligible for FMLA or any short gterm disability because you weren't on the job long enough. Plus the new job may have a probationary period of 90 days (or longer) and have a clause saying something about you missing work within that timeframe is grounds for termination. Personally, I would just wait to pursue advancement opportunities. I want to advance in my career but am waiting until I come back from FMLA (sometime around Sep since I am also due in June) and going to apply for other positions.
I think you did the right thing. I am currently working on gettin another job. I apply but I haven't gotten an interview yet. I don't plan on telling a future employer I am pregnant until they offer me a job lol
Technically it is illegal for them to disqualify you because you are pregnant, although that doesn't mean they will not find another reason. I would not have told them either, I would save it for the call back if they decide to proceed.
No, you were right about not telling them. Though when they see you they will find out anyway. I'm a cna as well n as demanding as our career may be they may not hire you. Good thing is you can't get fired for being prego, try n stick to one them try when you give birth to apply else where
