Ash060115*  I live in the USA, I have had 6 completely healthy and successful cesarean deliveries, scheduled for my 7th October the 17th.  Doctors can recommend you longer having more children due to your risks. But "3" isn't the limit :)!!!!! A doctor can only give a official diagnose on if you would be safe to deliver again in the future when you are literally on the operation table in the process of a current cesarean delivery. The doctor has to check your uterus, your muscle tone, the tissue and other organs (to make sure they are not damaged). But that's only done obviously internally. I tried deliver naturally (vaginal) after my first 3 cesarean deliveries, my doctor wasn't thrilled about my battle to try but also knew how well I heal both externally and internally. So the race was off, several hours and no progression (I don't dilate past 3/4 cm). Broke my heart! I actually had the C-section done a week later, when I hit my 39 week mark, still haven't dilated any!! Go figure!! But I honestly had great deliveries, common body temperature complications (any cesarean delivery is at risk for), a little nausea due to the spinal tap but all common side effects. I absolutely hate the spinal taps, that's the only thing I hate looking forward to!! I get chills thinking about them, but also am silly and I constantly watch spinal tap videos online, crazy me!! But don't get discouraged!! I am no super woman by any means but I had all those done and it goes well, mind you...I freak over a cut finger or foot. Lol!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-)

Aww im sry hun but hey thats ok! csection isnt a horrible thing not pleasant but like you said gotta do what's best for you and baby! :-) I would just ask your doctor about and see of you can get some answers. Normally repeat cesarean is done at 39 unless there are other complications etc. Good luck :-)

I'm too risky for vbac :( devastating to me but I've to stop being selfish and do whats best for my son... :(
@mama6hijos you've had 7sections? - all is well? , I was devastated at not being able to vbac because I was told max sections is 3? Obviously I was informed wrongly!  What country are you in?

All of my deliveries were scheduled at 39 weeks, although I had my last son at 36 weeks (definitely not scheduled). He had stressed fetal heartbeat. I had contractions but didn't dilate, he was stressed. I had one delivery at 37 weeks (not scheduled), due to contractions and no progression with dilation. All were scheduled for 39 weeks, all of my children but two of them were delivered at 39 weeks.

The recommend date for a scheduled (none emergency) cesarean delivery is at 39 weeks. If there are health conditions that benefit both mother and baby before 39 weeks, then that will be discussed and a decision will be made based on health risks. I have had 6 cesarean deliveries, tried delivering vaginal but my body unfortunately does not dilate on a natural base. I am scheduled for my 7th cesarean delivery, October the 17th, (39 weeks) Exactly a week before my due date which is October the 23rd.

No that really isn't true vbac are no less safe than a repeat major surgery cesarean. Depends what backwards pay off the country your in these days. Vbacs are finally making a come back and where I live doctors would rather do a vbac than a repeat cesarean. The risk of uterine rupture is no higher than consequences that can occur with repeat csection. Just not everyone is a good candidate for a vbac. Depends you had a cesarean how many you've had etc. But usually after one cesarean is going to be just as safe for a vbac. I personally cannot wait for my vbac :-)

I had emergency section on my first too ;
we are going to arrange section date at the 30wk appointment in October.

I'm due January 6th but was told I can have a section from as early as 16th December !!
We were told anywhere around 37weeks
but I want to wait until last min as close to edd as possible.

When's your next appointment?? They really should have discussed.
Would you like a vbac?

Obs almost always want you to have a c section if you've had one before because there's a risk of the old c section incision coming open during labor. As to how soon, usually just a couple weeks before your due date.
