3 car seats!!!!

So I received one brand new carseat and 2 used ones from my friends.the new one was given to me last.I dont need another car seat but I do need a playpen .do I need to tell my friend that I wana exchange it??? Ty .

What AKCGs mom said. There should be a serial number on the car seat and also what rimmer said too is good advice. It's always better to be safe than sorry!

I would never use a carseat for my child that has been used before unless it was used for one of my own children.... if the carseat was used and the vehicle was in an accident you are supposed to throw it away and get a new one even if it looks ok... if you dont know its better just to go with the new one... however if you decide to go with a used one then just tell your friend before hand that you are thinking of exchanging it for a play pen i think she will be more understanding if you talk to her about it before you do it... communication is the key...

They have expiration dates on them. You can also search the model # for recalls.

First I would check to see if the used car seats are still up to standard since they change car seats standards constantly. I would also check to see if there are any recalls as well cause Graco just put out a massive statement saying they are recalling all car seats from 2009-2013 because a default in the buckle. If nothing is wrong with the used car seats then you can return the new one. I think it's your choice if you want to inform your friend or not but I think as long as you get something you need, that friend wouldn't care :) hope this helps!

I would just exchange it is she REALLY going to be checking your car seat situation and if she does tell her the truth.

I would completely be honest with your friend about it. If I gave my friend something she didnt need and was able to exchange it for something she did I would be excited to know at least what I got was truly needed.

Just tell her thank you so much for the new car seat. I was able to get what I really need which is a play pen. Your the best lol

I would just be honest and tell her you appreciate it however you have received two car seats and wanted to make sure it was okay with her if you exchanged it for a playpen because you really need one. I'm sure she wouldn't mind. Unless you know where she got it then you can just exchange it if you feel weird asking her.
