Hey girls, as a hairdresser and as someone whos had the same dry scalp problem in pregnancy I would recommend coal tar shampoo, (no conditioner, instead, use a serum to smooth your hair during/after drying as this has no contact with the scalp x even try sleeping with the shampoo in, we have one in the uk called t-gel which is amazing stuff by neutrogena, see of your doc or pharmacist can give you something similar :)
Yep that's what I use. Fantastic stuff!!
Head and shoulders is my best friend, in the past I had severe issues but since using head and shoulders I've had zero problems. Give it a good week to kick in and work. I strictly use just that.
My first boy I had no problems, this one OH MY GOSH!! I use dandruff shampoo and conditioner and have eased off to washing my hair as little as possible, once or twice a week. Also I lay in a bath with some olive oil in it, I soak my hair and scalp in the water. It's great for the dry scalp and for your skin too. I've noticed that I don't have as many stretch marks this time around either... And I'm 36 weeks, so the laying in the bath is getting a little more uncomfortable. Lol
Ha ha ha thanks! I know, Ive had to just deal with the acne hopefully it does go away eventually. The tree tea oil definately helps me. When I wash my hair with it I rub it in to my scalp and let it sit for a minute or two and the tingle feels great and refreshing, to me at least ;) Good luck!!!
I may have to try that tree tea oil, I'm not sure I can go the rest of my pregnancy like this, even tho ive alrdy gone this long, but it is literally drivin me crazy! Thanks for your suggestion. And I only got rly bad acne when I was pregnant with my girls and dnt wry, itll subside after you give birth. Nothin will help it, so I dnt have any helpful options for you, haha sorry!! Good luck with your little man too! :)
Try leaving coconut oil in overnight once or twice s week to moisturise your scalp.
I have the same issue! I'm 33 weeks with a boy too. My first baby. And not only do I have itchy scalp but super dry and flakey skin as well as acne worse than I've ever had in my entire life! For my scalp I use is a tree tea oil shampoo. It tingles a bit on your scalp when u wash but it relieves dry scalp which causes the itch. I hope this helps and good luck with your little guy!
