accessory lobe placenta

Hi every one. This is my 1st time posting.  This is my second pregnancy. In thr 1st I had a retained placenta and needed It manually removed in the OR. I had a gender scan at the weekend and they told me that I have an accessory lobe placenta on the front and that the main placenta is on the back.  They said yo mention it to my doc at my next appointment.  Any one heard of this.... will I need a c-section?

No,  it doesn't necessarily mean you'll need a c section,  but at the time of delivery the ob must make sure the accessory placenta comes out with the  afterbirth. Otherwise,  you'll end up with another retained placenta.
