Can a urinary tract cause many contractions or pre-term labor?

It is indeed. I had preterm labour at 22weeks because of uti and (I can't spell this) pilnmoforitus (kidney thing) .. thankfully it was stopped.

Yes, we see it all the time. The first thing we do in triage is give a fluid bolus to anyone we see is dehydrated and or have a uti.  Also, anyone preterm with cramping, abdominal pain or full on contractions give a urine sample for testing because it is often a simple diagnosis.

Yes, I had a uti around 19 wks and had contractions, also a bladder infection can as well as dehydration
