Relax through contractions. Work with your body and not against it. Learn and practice breathing techniques before you go into labor. Work on making your room comfortable. Dim lights, soft music, whatever will help you relax. Try to labor on your feet and upright as long as possible, not laying flat on ypur back. Laboring in the shower really helps too. These will all help make contractions more bearable and labor shorter, if not less painful.

Also, I love using high-quality essential oils. (Doterra or Young Living) Fill a crockpot or sink full of hot water, several drops of lavendar oil, and wascloths. Put the warm washcloths on your stomach/back and switch out when they get cold. Black pepper oil is great for back labor, and frankincense helps with pain too.

You can always get an epidural, but research the pros and cons first. For me, the cons of having a medicated labor far outweigh the pros.

My dear pls it's best you endure the pains because ease comes 1c the baby is out.most of the reducing methods have side effects which may not be discussed at 11st!while not bear it now and live happily after ,than finding relying on a short cut and then live in pains forever.for my 1st ,my doctor told me to get epidural but the midwife that attended to me b4 the arrival of the doctor was totally against it.she enligthened me!told me the pros and cons which most people won't do.its was a drama  moment for that 45mins but ease came 1c the placenta came out.may God make it easy for us all.

Epidural is what some prefer for pain relief. I hear it works well if done right.

Skullcap and motherwort extracts can be very helpful in easing pains. Only side effect may be drowsiness from the skullcap.
