Baby also starts to have REM sleep later on. My baby has been less active the past week. I think she started REM sleep which begins around the same time babys Moro reflex is developed completely. She exhibits the Moro reflex as she did it when my son squealed loudly by her one morning last week. I can tell she's sleeping more lately. Usually if I massage her, find a foot and try to tickle it, or lay down on my side she will respond. Sometimes if I expose my stomach to light or music as well she moves in response. She seems to like my 2.5 year old son singing or talking to her. It usually gets a response.

with all my first 3 babies.  it was less movments closer to the end as they get so big and there is not a lot of room for them to move. though you should be able to count 10 mives in 2 hrs.vrs the 15 in 5min. lol try not to worry, do your counts and things will be fine.

It's normal for babies to move less when your this far because theirs less space for them to move around.

I've noticed a great decrease in movement. I'll be 39 weeks on Sunday & my boy squirms here & there but nothing like before. I usually have to drink cold water or OJ to feel him now.

They say the further along you get the baby runs out of room so you don't feel them as much. Or so that's what I've heard. I'm a ftm so I don't really know. I would think it would be the opposite though, having the baby run out of room I would think you would feel them more. But I don't guess that's the case.

Movements sort of became less frenzied and more "on purpose" if that make sense but still lots of them. I could tell when he was asleep verse when he was awake. If you are worried do a counting test. There should be at least 10 movements in a 2 hour period.
