I will be 39 weeks tomorrow and have not had one. My dr. said that you could be dialated for weeks with out labor in sight and be closed one day and giving birth the next so checking every week isn't really a good indicator of when you will start labor.....

Lol.  I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they're uncomfortable.

I am 37 weeks and had NY cervical exam today. I had my pap smears done 2 weeks ago and I thought that was painful but guess what it wasnt. Cervical exam tei but the doctor inserts like 2 fingers deep inside and it hurts a lot...i was like ouch and my husband felt bad for me haha but thank God it doesn't last that long.

Mine started at 35 weeks and yes checking for dilation n such. Nothing like a pap VERY uncomfortable. To be honest I feels like they are trying to get there hand elbow deep. Just take deep breaths and count 1 to 10 and 10 to 1. Its something my mom taught me years ago and it helps to not focus on what's going on. :/ I'm due for another tomorrow n I'm due in 4days, not looking forward to it.

What all are they doing? Checking for dilation? Is it similar to a pap?
