4cm dilated, 2-3 min apart contractions- and hospital sends me home...

So last night I started contractions at 10:30pm, went to the hospital at 2:30am and contractions were 2-3 min apart and really strong... they monitored me until 6am and then discharged me-- still with contractions 2-3 min apart... I had contractions until about 7am and then they just stopped... hoping they will come back soon... the hospital said that since I am 38 weeks 3 days they wont do anything to help progress my labor and wanted to give me medication to stop it... which I refused... I dont get it... they are going to induce in 4 days!!! Doesnt make sense to do this to me... they are soo cruel!!!

Well contractions have started again... they are far apart right now... but im going on another walk and have a yoga ball my friend just lent me... I understand they dont want to induce at 39 weeks... but I went into labor naturally and was in it for 8 hours... they think it stopped because of my crying... and I got an ear infection from it

I agree with Brittany, active labor doesn't just stop. Definitely think it's ridiculous to not help your body along when they're already planning on inducing, though. It's so much better to work with your body. Hopefully you'll go into labor on your own before induction, and if not at least your body has been preparing itself.

Fantastic5-- any of the Banners... they changed their policy to not help along any women who are not at least 39 weeks... I was in active labor for 8 hours and my body just couldn't handle it so I passed out and woke up 2 hours later with no contractions. ... I started getting them again

It sounds like your contractions stopped on their own anyway so by sending you home they made the right call. If you refused meds to stop labor they still made an educated decision to send you home. I'd be mad at your body not the doctor.

I had my first in California and had a great experience... I was 4cm dilated contractions 1.5 min apart they told me when I got there I wasnt going home admitted me within 30 minutes, started the IV fluids, and had an epidural 1 hr after getting there... they made me wait 4 hours with strong contractions 2-3 min apart to send me home... I told them they were cruel while I was telling them how BS it is that they are inducing me in just 4 days... cause I really want to be induced- yea right... I went into labor on my own...they could have admitted me and made me just walk around the hospital...
