Just a rant!!!

There was a "natural pregnany and birth" group as a suggestion on my Facebook today.. Curious I had a look!!

My lord, it promoted home birth, drug and intervention free birth and heaven forbid you had a c-section or any assistance as that makes you a bad mother and taking te easy way out..

Well for your iformation, most women who need assistance during birth and or drugs or a c section need to, as their life or their babies life is in danger!!!!!!!! If you can do it al a natural then that is wonderful and I have utmost respect for you, but I also have the utmost respect for any women who can carry a baby to term and deliver them in the safest way possible... If that means having an epidural that so be it!!!

Just so over all these people who get on their high horse about the natural way... When there are many women like me who's bodies simply can not do it, I deserve the same respect as anyone else!!! We are lucky we live in a time and place where most can give birth safely, if this was 80 years ago I and my baby would not survive!!!

Funny you made this post. Over the weekend a family friend of ours who is a labor & delivery nurse gave me a speech about how she's seen many babies whose moms got pain meds be born not breathing when I mentioned I wanted an epidural.

I don't understand what's the big deal about the epidural, this is my first pregnancy and I'm going for it, if it was any harm for the baby, I don't think doctors would use it, is like that with breastfeeding, some women can do it, some women can't, for any reason, they can't, no woman can judge another woman for not breastfeed

Im gonna agree with powellbaby2. Im a ftm and i plan to do a natural water birth. But its not less a bout my baby or birth i simply have done my research and know what i want. We all see life different so why wouldnt we see our babys births different? There is no right or wrong way. As long as you know your risks on everything no matter how fda approved it is. Anyways best of luck to all of you mamas and no matter how you choose to deliver i hope a fast easy labor to you all

I was lucky enough to give birth to my daughter natural the first time . I understand the point of view on c-sections me and my friend were both pregnant at the same time no problems through our pregnancies til the end we ended up both going into labor at 34 weeks what are the odds but she had to have a  emergency c-section cause her baby quit growing and only weighed
2 1/2 lbs it saved his life! I myself plan on never having an epidural or c-section  and my suggestion on any decision is do your research and then decide because most women can do it natural and sometimes an epidural slows down later when you could of had your baby in your arms hours before. Like you said its amazing for any women to carry a baby full term and healthy!

Childbirth was the leading cause of death in women before "medical intervention". I fully intend on being in a hospital when i deliver my second. My mom didn't have an epidural with any of the 3 children she delivered. She didn't have a choice. If she could do it all over, she would avoid some of the pain. Also, had I not been born in a hospital, I would not have survived. I started breathing in the womb and had a bowel movement.  I was born so many complications that they thought I was dead. My mom thanks God for medical intervention and so do I!

Its a point of view. I know you may feel offended but, just because you dont see eye to eye doesnt mean one is wrong and the other is right. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. Just let it go, & do what you need to do.

Giving birth is painful and scary. I am getting the epidural because its an option open to me. It doesn't make me better or worse. I just want to give birth to a healthy baby and ill be completely satisfied.

I recently heard something that made a great point about how some people take natural birth overboard like you are saying. It also went on about how safe it is now and so on. The biggest thing i appreciated about it was how it said that with the epidural, the experience is more about your child, not about the birth itself. I don't need to prove anything(i know thats not the case for everyone) and am just fine admitting i intend to get an epidural. I am a tough person, but i dont want to be miserable from crazy pain when i 1st meet my little man. I want to be able to enjoy the experience as much as i can.

Im pregnant with my 4th. ....all my previous pregnancies iv managed to have drug free and naturally,  I count myself bleased to be able to have done that and would never judge those who have had to have help in one way or another......on the other hand I have never been able to breastfeed,  I have tried and tried but just cant do it and I too feel like people seem to think that everyone can breastfeed and if you cant iys your fault.....I would never judge as every pregnancy/labour/feeding technique has its own reasons.
