To all you moms out there that use cloth diapers about how many do you recommend having?

I have 34 to start with, mine are pocket diapers. I bought 24 extra  bamboo charcole liners though, and I double them up in each diaper.

You're welcome :-) once you start buying those cute little butt covers it's hard to stop yourself though... there's always a new color or print you'll "need" so be careful!! Check out craigslist and swap/sell groups on facebook for excellent deals on pre-loved diapers - and if you treat yours well most brands hold a pretty good resale value so diapering can be even cheaper! 24-36 depending on whether you want to wash every other day or have enough to make it 3-4 days. If you're using prefolds and covers (or prefolds and gDiapers which is my preference) then 24-36 prefolds is good but you'd be fine with probably 12ish covers total since they can be wiped clean after a pee and used again instead of washing the whole thing after every change like with pockets or AIOs.
