Anyone taking Omeprazole and milk of magnesia on occasion for acid reflux????

Ok ladies went to doctor yesterday and they sent me right to labor and delivery.  I have a Gastrointestinal virus that they say are going around right now especially in pregnant women.  BE CAREFUL!!

I am on omeprazole as it's the only thing that works for me. Have had acid reflux from the very start, not nice at all!

I take 2 generic Zantac 150mg each a day with tums in between.... Oked by Dr.

I drank diluted apple cider vinegar & took papaya enzymes with my meals, it helped speed up the digestive process so I didn't get heartburn & acid reflux

When I got pregnant my doctor told me I had acid. Reflux and prescribed me omeprazole and I started to feel a lot better after a week or two but yesterday I felt really sick from my throat down to my stomach.  Anything I ate or drank made me feel awful and came back up. I have an appt to see my doc today. Hoping it was just a one day thing. Haven't eaten anything today. Kinda scared...

I was told the only precrisption drug you can take for acid reflex was zantax or the pharmacy brand zantax because i was taking omeprazole before pregnacy and my doctor toke me right off it . You could also use tums . But they help better for heart burn . I have wicked acid reflex and i take the pharmacy brand zantax and it seems to work fine, you can get it any drug store i believe but this is Canada idk about any were else

Btw, are you confusing mylanta with milk of mag? Like pp said, milk of mag is for constipation

I take prevacid and prilosec. I also take two prescription meds. Takes 4 diff meds a day to keep mine at bay. Ugh

I take Omeprazole... it's the only thing that works for me. So many people confuse acid reflux w/ heart burn & it's definitely not the same thing. I was prescribed Omeprazole way before I became pregnant. Over the counter medicines just don't work for me.

I asked the Dr and got something generic over the counter. Call and ask for whats safe to take

My Dr allows me to take zantac 75mg

Thank you. Do you have any idea of an over the counter acid reducer I can use? I'm having a very hard time right now. Miserable! I've been throwing up all day and my chest is burning. Just a all around uncomfortable feeling in stomach chest and throat.

milk of magnesium will make you poop that's what they use when you're constipated so if you're constipated I would take milk of magnesium but if you're not do not take it you could be hydrate yourself
