Anxiety!! Far from home

Hi ladies, I'm 8 weeks today! Suffering from bad anxiety.  I'm Australian but will be having my baby in the UK away from all my family & friends. I'm literally a world away from my support network.  Is anyone else in the same or similar situation?

Just try to take things one moment at a time. It will at times feel overwhelming, but u will be fine. Try to involve ur family a lot through Skype & video tape. Capture the moments for them. Wish you well!

Thank you, I'm not sure I'll be able to keep the Grandmas in Australia anyway they'll probably pack there bags as soon as I tell them the news. I wish we could just go home but financially it would ruin us we have nothing in Australia. We own a house here & I'm entitled to maternity pay which I wouldn't get if we go home. Hope the stress goes away soon ;-(

You will be fine :) but im about 1.5 hours away from home and its my first baby. Sometimes it feels hours away because my family wants me to move back anf gives me the good ol' guilt trip. However, i nroke down and agreed to deliver at their local hospital. It seems like i cant win...i want that maternal support, but will miss the city as it has been my home for years. I understand your situation, and I hope your anxiety will subside, i began to watch movies more and take up scrapbooking to calm my nerves...
