A midwife friend shared this blog with me about epidurals. I found it helpful

I see, I also have heard those stories where some have longer harder labors than others. For me that's scary... :/
As far as bad for babies there can be certain complications from it- I've heard of babies heart rate dropping.

I wouldnt say bad for your baby, but kinda risky for you. Since they can slip and if worst comes to worst you can be paralyzed, but A LOT of women have back pain from getting them later on, so ima try to not get one but we will see lol. Either way its all up to you in the end

I personally think that if you can do it natural then do it!  You don't know what you can handle until you try.  I had my first entirely natural and yes it hurt but i forgot that as soon as he was out. I felt brave and powerful and proud that I did it. I'm 25 weeks with my second and plan to do the same again. As for it they hurt the baby? They can have side effects so all your doctor for all the pros and cons before taking any medication. It's best to be sure.

Yeah I had epidurals with my first two and it was cake. I too was in the middle of contractions when it was done. Just afraid of how much it will hurt. I heard that sometimes without any kind of pain medicine the pain can be so intense it may actually slow labor down.

You'll get a lot of different responses to this and truthfully it mostly comes down to the day of your delivery and your pain tolerance. I have not been good with dealing with contractions past 5 cm and honestly I prefer to be calm and rest for when my baby arrives- plus I've had the help of Pitocin both times so maybe they've been a little more intense. I'm definitely not afraid of the needle stick because they've done it while in the middle of a contraction so that tops off more than a needle prick. Get as much informed as possible so you know what to expect and be a little more knowledgeable- with my first everyone around me made it seem like an epidural was the worst thing I could do. Again it all depends on you. Good luck!  ;)
