Wow, 14 foot? (S)he must be magnificent!

Sorry, I know it's unrelated, but still, Wow!

Also, I second everything these ladies say. Just make sure you're washing  your hands and not letting baby and snake have close contact with each other.

I'd say you and baby will be fine as long as the snake is contained, you don't go from touching snake to baby without washing your hands and changing clothes of you held it close to you. I had snakes when my son was born. He's almost 5 and very healthy. If you're concerned about the size of the snake we built a special cage for our 14ft berm. There was no way she was getting out of there without human assistance.

There is a type of salmonella that can be caught by reptiles that the young and elderly are at risk if they catch. I'm sure that if your extra careful with cleanliness (making sure you've cleaned yourself before touching baby and that the baby doesn't come into any contact with anything of the snakes). Personally I think it's to much of a worry and a risk and wouldn't but do your research first.
