Anyone else find prenatals aggravate nausea?

So I've been taking prenatals for months, in preparation for pregnancy and never had had a problem. However since becoming pregnant I've been so ill! Around 8wks I temporarily stopped taking them and within 24-48hrs I felt sooo much better. I gave it a week and started again, lo and behold sickness kicked in big time. I've just bought Pregnacare vitamins, with the moderate iron and zinc incase that's the problem. I'm also hoping that being 14wks now, I may not suffer anymore.
I guess I'm just curious if anyone else has found this with vitamins and whether you found an alternative brand that works better for you? :)

You need to take a prenatal. And you cannot take one w/o iron. Most gummies do not have iron that's bad! Take nature made liquid gels with dha. Liquid geeks are so much easier on your stomach and easier to digest. And never the on an empty stomach. Wait till like after dinner to take them. Im sry butvi can't figure out y some ppl are stupid about vitamins. That want in reference to the one who posted this either. But seriously ppl you have to take your vitamins. Folic acid and iron are essential during pregnancy. And the nature madec aren't terribly expensive and very highly ranked prenatals. Vitmsins screw my stomach up something terrible but not these.

I used to throw up with any type of vitamin. I now use prenatal gummy vitamins and they don't bother me at all.

I had the same problem and my doctor gave me sample packs to see which one would work for me so I ended up with a prescription of CitraNatal and I take them before bed.

Thanks ladies! I've never seen chewable prenatals here in the UK...well not in the supermarkets anyway. I'm gonna head to a health store tomorrow to see if they have them, failing that I found some amazon after reading all your comments. Hopefully I can take the tablets again at some point seeing as I must have £30 worth in my medicine cupboard lol. Thank you for the tips ladies :)

they make me sick all the time.   I found though that all vitamins do that to me not just the prenatal variety. The pharmasist told me to take them right before bed and then I won't get that feeling

I had the same problems with the spring valley brand.  They had made me so incredibly sick.  But the father happens to work at a health food store.  And his boss' wife told him to buy me all natural vitamins. After taking them,  OMG  i felt amazing! They are ultra prenatals, plus my dha vitamins.  The prenatals are horse pills lol. So i take them one at a time.  But... no extra ingredients and more percentage of vitamins. And I showed them to my obgyn, she was amazed at the health labels and had recommended them to other patients.  Try an all natural.  They might help

Don't stop taking them!!! Try making sure you take them with food, a breakfast shake or a fulfilling snack. Take them more in the later hours of the day/afternoon rather then in the morning or lunch hour. Ask your OB if they can prescribe a prescription prenatal vitamin, those you can cut them in three pieces, taking a small piece at different hours, eventually increasing into just two pieces, then trying them whole. Congratulations!!!

I tried almost everything out there, I told my Dr I had to stop taking the vitamins because my vomiting was increased by them. He recommend target brand gummy prenatals. They work fantastic. Haven't had a problem since.

Yes I dealt with the same issue. My doctor suggested taking them right before I go to sleep and it has worked ever since. I also changed from the pills to the gummies because  I really hated taking  those giant pills.

I got sick if I would take them in the morning, especially in the beginning. The pills were just too much. I switched to the chewables and took them at night before I went to bed and it was 100% better. Now that I am later in the 2nd trimester I've switched back over to the pills. I still take them at night though.

I found that the Walmart brand Spring Valley gummies are the best. I can't swallow big pills so i opted for the gummy vitamins. These ones taste better and don't aggravate my stomach as much, I take them before bed with a glass of milk.

I've heard that the chewables or the liquid are a little easier on the tummy. I don't take prenatal vitamins at all, havnt my whole pregnancy (32 weeks)  it could be a few different things that's making you feel yuck, iron sometimes can do that as well. Health food stores usually carry more higher end and better quality ingredient vitamins, I'd try there :)

Mine was bad in my first and early second trimester. Don't stop taking your vitamins, just try to find one with no iron. Flintstones gummy vitamins worked for me. I switched back to regular prenatal vitamins again around 18 weeks it's been fine since.
