freaking terrified!!!!

So one of my friends came by to visit today and she tells me that one of her friends just had their baby a few weeks ago and had to have a c section well she then tells me that the Dr who performed the c section CUT THE BABIES HEAD!!!! WTF!!! And to top it off this is a new younger Dr that goes where I go and my Dr is young and newer I'm terrified it's him! She forgot his name so as soon as she finds out the name she is going to text me. I want to switch Drs now!

The doctor that I had for my first son (8 years ago), cut his head getting him out too.  At the time, I was just grateful that we were both alive!  Thank goodness that no infection set up or anything for him even though everything else was a nightmare with that doctor!  Human error will happen, but I think trust in your doctor goes a long way too.  It's one thing to make a mistake but another to be careless.

I'm thinking that your friend is probably scaring you and that there is more to this story. First off its highly highly unlikely they'd cut into the baby when performing a csection, and second even if somehow it did happen the likelyhood of infection would be slim because its a sterile environment. Also even if a cut did get infected, it would be a superficial infection and you wouldn't develop sepsis for at least a few days to a week later (in a worst case scenario)

I agree with octoberlove7 my friend had a c section 13 years ago by a very well known doctor in southern California who had performed hundreds of cesareans. But he had accidentally cut the baby on the cheek. Yes she sued the doctor, but hey  everybody makes mistakes I'm sure no doctor will do that on purpose and risk their career. But go with your gut. Change doctor just for you to be comfortable. Good luck :)

I'm sorry for you friend that must have been so scary for her. And if changing doctors will make you feel better and less nerves you should. But we all have ti remember we are all just human and this doctor didn't go into this life saving surgery thinking or wanting to hurt the baby sometimes babies shift from the last postion they were at on the us or something else happens unexpectedly this could have happen with any doctor. I bet he feels horrible!! I prey that he has some peace too, that he doesnt give uo on his career or dream but learns from this and works ti never have it happen again!
