Babies with blocked tear ducts...

My first baby developed blocked tear ducts a couple weeks after birth and the doctor prescribed antibiotic gel to apply to his eyes daily for a week or so. Ten years later my current baby developed the same.  I searched online to find other solutions.  I found a YouTube video if ap pediatrician that recommended massaging the tear duct at the corner of the eye and bridge of the nose.  He also said for breast feeding moms to drip breast milk in the eye.  I thought I would give it a try before bed, and by morning the eye goop didn't come back and it was all better. Boob milk is magic!

I also wish I would have known that with my first, but I was young and didn't know what it was.  I'm glad I looked into it more this time.  I hope more people see this post.
For those of you that haven't experienced a blocked tear duct and don't know what the symptoms are- your baby will have a watery eye and will get goopy usually while sleeping.  It may look like the symptoms of pink eye, but the eye will still be white, not pink.

Wow! My oldest daughter had one blocked tear duct. The breast milk trick would've been nice to know, or at least try. If this baby has the same I will for sure try it.
