weight gain

hi ladies!! I'm venting here. so my Dr is now a nutritionist. so I'm 19 wks and I've gained 20 lbs. I'm not fat r over weight and me and my baby are fine. but he's so hard on ppl. says we should only gain 25 lbs in total... that's ridiculous!! he keeps saying I'll need a c section when I know plenty moms who have gained 50+ lbs and still delivered natural

I gained about 60 pounds with mine I was 130  when I delivered I was 194 I delivered vaginal but was a tiny baby. My mom said she gained the same as I did and had a 9+lb baby. Some gain a lot some don't. Just don't eat a lot of fast food if you do try for the healthiest thing although lol I usually go for the biggest Burger.

Heather that's just what I'll do. didn't want to but better now than never

and with eating u should be eating 5-6 small meals a day which is healthier for baby and you. it keeps ur sugar and metabolism at a constant rate instead of up and down. (my dr. told me)

he shouldn't say that every mommy/baby is different. if you are already overweihgt when u get pregnant they worry because it is bad on you and baby but if u were normal weight it shouldnt be a problem. I was told 2-3 lbs a month for the first 2 trimesters is healthy. and normal wight gain is 25-30. look at jessica simpson she gained 70 with her first and her and the baby were fine. i'd look into getting a new dr. urs seems like a d-bag

Oh and I gave birth naturally too - went from 76kg to 112kg during first pregnancy, baby was only 6lb8 the rest was fluid retention and weight gain (went down to about 95kg a week after birth) from cravings but other than having a hard time shifting weight after having him we were both healthy

I'm 24wks and have only gained 2kg which is about 4-5pounds I think. My doc isn't worried about me not gaining more because I was a size 16. When I had my first baby I was the opposite and gained a heap of weight which I never was able to fully shift after having him and 9yrs later still yoyo with my weight so my advise is to try not to gain too much unecessary weight - obviously fluid retention can't be helped but make healthy choices when you can :)

I've gained a lot, but baby is right on track weight wise. My doctor gives me nutrition advice but she says my main concern should just be eating right and having a healthy baby. She says that after my daughter is born she'll help me lose the extra weight and that shouldn't be my focus now.

Yeah if you have a baby heavier than 8lbs you can still birth normally. My friend pushed her 10lbs 15oz daughter out lol. Don't be pressured into having a section if you don't want one - your body, your choice. X

Your Dr sounds kinds dumb lol, my babies have all been over 8 lbs and came vaginally. Dr these days are just impatient and would rather do c section then wait ask the hours it takes to have them naturally

I've got told the same thing my midwife here always had something to say when I barely gained 1-2lbs over from Wat they expect which made my self esteem down.I'm not even over weight I gained 30lbs and I'm due very soon. Don't listen to how much u have to gain its all for the baby. I worried about gaining too much but now I'm more about the baby and making sure babys getting enough food from me.
