5 weeks can be too early to see anything on an ultrasound, especially if the ultrasound is not done vaginally. Vaginal ultrasounds work best in early pregnancy.
Bleeding can be a sign of miscarriage however some women can bleed early in pregnancy and still go on the have a baby. If the bleeding did not last long, that can be a good sign. When a lot of women miscarry, bleeding and cramping usually increase in severity. Some women even experience what seems like a period but are pregnant and don't realize it for a month or two.
If you had sex prior to the bleeding, sex can sometimes cause women to spot and bleed during pregnancy.
For now, try to rest as much as possible and avoid strenuous activity and intercourse until you see your doctor next week.
Good luck.
If you are passing clots or just felt like something quarter size or so came out or dropped in the toilet. U had a miscarriage but if it's just some bleeding baby might still b ok just too small still. But I would just rest n lay down till u go to ur appt.
It's hard but wait a week. I went through a similar thing....and now I'm 14 weeks and 5 days pregnant.
Good luck
