Bacterial Infection

I'm 2 months pregnant and found out I have BV. Im freaked out, however my doctor stated it will pass on its own. I heard about miscarriages and low birth rate, and went through this with a healthy pregnancy or should i just take the medicine to clear it??

You need antibiotics for that. I got Bv when I was 25 wks. I med is nasty but you need to take it. It won't clear up on its own.

It's very common. I just finished an oral antibiotic for it. I was told that the vaginal inserts were dangerous in the early stages if pregnancy by one doctor and another nurse (from a different doctors office) gave me the ok to use the inserts. I think that the pill form of the antibiotic is safer during pregnancy. The pill is very nasty though.

It's VERY common...it's naturally occurring and just from hormonal changes. Take the meds....it'll clear up, no worries.

I had that at 6 weeks.. I was put on Flagyl for 7 days. I'm only 8 weeks now so I haven't been back to my midwife, but I'm hoping it's gone. I would go back and get some meds!

It's absolutely fine to take the Antibiotics!!!I also had this in the beginning of my pregnancy. The risks of NOT taking the meds greatly increase complications, to you and the pregnancy. And I'm sorry, but your doctor is wrong, BV will not leave on its own. BV is a bacteria that needs immediate treatment.

This is baby number 3 for me and I've had it with both previous pregnancies. My doctor prescribed me some antibiotics to insert and it cleared up. I would enquiry it personally because I don't think it will clear on its own.

Nothing to freak out about, it normally happens when there's a big hormonal change. I had it when I was pregnant with my son and during this pregnancy. Antibiotics will clear it right up

Your Dr should've given you an antibiotic? If they did you should take the whole course.
