stripping membrane? induction? anyone experience?

Im 39+4 and due Wednesday March 25th. If I dont deliver by Wednesday my doctor has scheduled an induction for Friday March 27th. I have an appointment tomorrow what should I expect? I read they may strip the membrane. Anyone been in this situation of stripping the membrane or induction?  Any advice?

Oops pressed post too early...
Was contracting irregularly 6-9 times in every 10mins. We were getting no rest time so the contractions weren't effective either as the uterus needs rest time between too. I found it a tough experience, like misskaycee I had the epidural after coping with it for a few hrs - I got to the point of vomiting with the pain too. I don't want to influence you but I was seriously grateful for the epidural. Good luck.

I had mine done twice it was uncomfortable but not painful for me - I think it depends on who's doing it & your own pain threshold personally. It didn't work for me though I was induced at 41+5, had it done another 2 times during induction too. I had a very painful labour as I was oversensitive to the hormones so was contracting irregularly

It hurts!! Lol I only had one with my last pregnancy (that was my 3rd) i think they like to give that a try now instead of induction, it works for some but not for others...id say give it a go tho id rather that than being induced like I say it hurts but it only lasts a few seconds gud luck :-)

They didn't really say. I have an appointment today so I will ask and let you all know. I don't have any health problems and I dont have a high risk pregnancy.

If you dont mind me asking, why do they want to induce you?

You could ask them to strip your membranes. It might work! Then you wouldn't have to go through the induction process! :)

Ive been induced 3 times.. 1st 11hrs 2nd 4Hrs 3rd 2Hrs of labor.. I didnt have my membranes  stripped with any of them until now with my current pregnancy. I had them stripped Thursday  and lost my mucus plug but haven't had any contractions  at all.  Almost 38 weeks. Goodluck!

I was induced with both of my daughter's. Never had my membranes stripped that I know of. As far as I know my Dr just put me on pitocin and 9 painful hours later they were born. It was extremely painful the first time. They didn't tell me when you are induced the contractions are 100x harder. I wanted all natural but after 7 hours I couldn't take it and asked for epidural. Was in so much pain I was vomiting. Bad experience. With my second tho it went much smoother because my Dr recommended to get the epidural as soon as I felt my first contraction. Which was alot easier and less pain to deal with. So if your going to be induced I would highly recommend the epidural. Good luck!

I haven't but my best friend had her membranes stripped to try and induce labor.it didn't really do anything for her still took awhile for her to go into labor.she did end up going on her own and didn't get induced but it was after her due date.
