Benedryll safe?

I'm about 12 weeks pregnant, and my skin is broken out in an itchy rash! Ugh! Is benedryll safe to take if I only take 1 per night? It's itchier at night and keeps me up . I'm putting cortisone cream on all the time,  I'm scared to take meds but I'm itching so bad right now. Just need relief to sleep. Any suggestions?

The itching is soooooooooooo bad, and my doctor now has me doing uv light treatment 2x week to help, but it doesn't feel like it's working. Has anyone else had this?

My doctor told me that I could take it, but I would check with your doc first to make sure.
