Bloating/constipated

Almost 8 wks. First time mom. Having twins. Not sure if u ladies have experienced this but how have you dealt with constipation/bloating? I have tried colace, prune juice, now adding mucilax(spelling wrong) seems to not help. I have heard most laxatives aren't safe since it can cause miscarriage or pre term labor. Can you give yourself an enema or is that not good either? Very uncomfortable feeling. Any advice??? Thx;)

For bloating I have tried gas x which gave me some relief. I learned the hard way because the days I actually didn't feel sick to my stomach I would endulge myself with food. I guess I felt normal again, lol. However later on I paid the price. Was up almost all night because I was extremely bloated which then made me feel like I was going to puke. Guess there is meaning behind eating small meals:)

The bloating has to go away on its own. It could be partially because you have twins but also when your intestines relax it creates that bloated look/ feel too.

I'm so bloated, too!!! It looks like I'm 5 months, but I'm just 9 weeks.  It's horrible.  I hate it!!! I've been bloated since the beginning!!! Im also carrying twins, so I wonder if it's a twin thing? Can someone make it go away :(

if you do decide to get an enema, it has to be water, not mineral oil

I had bad constipation with my son and having the same issue this time. The only thing that helps me is drinking coffee. I dont drink it every day just on saturday and it helps so much.  The other thing that helps me sometimes is syrup :)

I did a fleet enema the other day and got relief then u can start fresh with prune juice water and extra fiber. Once u are constipated its hard to get relief with diet at least for me anyways

Your stomachs muscles and insides relax when you are pregnant, making it harder to digest or make bowel movements. I took prenatal vitamins before pregnancy and was fine as well but with the iron AND the relax muscles it was too much. I didnt go for 2 weeks. But my doctor recommended switching to 2 flintstone gummy vitamins instead and within a few days I was going normally again

I would get really constipated at the beggining of my pregnancy and what I actually found helpful was oatmeal. The way it worked was hiw my grama makes it.
You can grab about a tea cup amount of dry uncooked oat meal and put sufficient water on it and boil that. Once its boiled pour a good amount of milk (I can't really tell you ho much cuz we just estimate it). The mixture of oatmeal and milk should be watery not thick. Once ths ts boiled then prep it with fruut and sugar ir however you like it. Usually when u eat it, its in the morning because your stomatch is empty so it works better and by lunch time I start feeling a little bubbly and need to go...try eating it for a couple of days and see how you feel. Its more of a natural and healthy way of getting your tummy going and milk  is good for your growing baby.

I was taking prenatal vitamins before I got pregnant,  with no constipation.  It wasn't until implantation that constipation kicked in

The only thing that worked for me was switching to 2 flintstone gummy vitamins. I was constipated up until about 13-14 weeks. I tried a high fiber diet, tons of water, and my doctor even prescribed a stool softener. Nothing but switching my vitamins helped. Good luck moma!

I'm the opposite. My Dr told me not to take anything with senna in it because there is zero information on its safety during pregnancy.

Magnesium citrate is the only thing that works for me. I take two at night and I'm good to go in the morning. My Dr is who advised me to take it

my doctor prescribed senna concentrate coz it took me 4 days of misery and my back hurts.. after taking it, that next morning, i felt like everything heavy inside me was gone.. its a life saver.. and i read that it is safe for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.. and of course drink tons of water..

If you don't want to resort to an enema right away you can also try glycerin suppositories and see of they help.

Ugh mine is awful at the beginning of pregnancy. I was the same with both my pregnancies. I recommend upping the dose of colace and drinking lots of water with it. Also, exercising strangely does help with constipation as well as other pregnancy symptoms but I didn't feel up to it until the 2nd trimester.  If you are desperate you can try an enema to get things moving but I wouldn't do it regularly.
