BH are simply practice contractions, so there's absolutely no reason they couldn't be painful. Mine certainly are and I haven't dialated anymore since my last appt.

Every experience is different but that doesn't mean just because you didn't experience such things, that they do not exist.

I've been to the hospital many times, I just knew I was in labor, Braxton Hicks!! :) And actually there are hormone shots that delay or completely stop contractions. Monitoring can tell the difference in your common Braxton Hicks and real labor contractions. If the doctors feels as it's a good method for your situation then a shot that can be given about every 20 minutes (limit is 3) could possibly be a possibility in your situation.

Labor contractions do not go away without possible help from medication even then when labor is active, it is very determined and nothing will stand in its way. Braxton Hicks can be horrible but they do go away eventually.

I've had braxton hicks contractions since about 26 weeks. At 27 weeks I went in to labor and 29 weeks. Im now 32 weeks. I agree braxton hicks do suck but I find getting up and walking around or drinking lots of water to help!

Lol, I can one hundred percent relate!!!! It bothers me when other woman explain that Braxton Hicks aren't suppose to be painful, not true!! Actually they can be down right awful!!! This is my 7th pregnancy, I have had mild Braxton Hicks from about 16 weeks in the majority of my pregnancies. My Braxton Hicks increase in intensity by about 34 weeks!! I am now 35 weeks and 4 days, there were several times I seriously thought labor was close, my Braxton Hicks contractions left me in tears and were back to back, all false labor. Lol!! Just common Braxton Hicks!!! Resting and staying hydrated are the only two ways to honestly tell if they are real labor contractions or Braxton Hicks!! :)
