One downside to formula is it's more likely to make your baby constipated. But healthwise it's not going to mess up your kid. I breastfeed because I'm too cheap and lazy to buy and use formula.

My son was overdo and couldn't latch either, the hospital gave me a nipple shield, like a pacifier attachment for your Boob, he then was able to breast feed. After a few months I had to go back to work, we slowly added in formula. I plan on doing it the same way this time.

i think if you can breastfeed you should there are great things in  breast milk that formula can not duplicate. that being said it is an adequate substitute if your able too. im praying i can breastfeed and will try my best to do it not only for the well being of my baby but the cost savings, formula is so expensive!

If you don't want to breastfeed then don't. Don't let anyone make you feel guilty about not breastfeeding. I breastfed my boys for about 5-6 weeks each and then switched to formula and they have only been to the doc for illness once each any they're 4 and 2. I also have a friend who bf her boys for 12-18 months and they get sick very often. They're in the doc office monthly, sometimes multiple times a month, so it's not always the case that their immune system is better.

It's not just that breast milk is natural and better for your baby, but also the microbes on your skin help the baby.

Only because she wouldn't latch on and it made me sad to hear her cry. Honestly i didnt try too long but thats just me. But everyone is different & I didn't have any bad experience or less bonding with my daughter. She's my little sidekick :) I don't regret that choice.

I wanted to breastfeed with my son. Unfortunately, things didn't click with him. I will try again this pregnancy. If you decide to try breastfeeding, and it doesn't work, don't feel like a failure.  My son is a hoss! He's almost 2 and he's in the 90% of height, weight, and head circumference. He's also super healthy.  He's only had a runny nose. It could be jeans, the formula,  or not.

Breast milk has antibodies that are so beneficial for your baby that they won't get in formula. That is why most are so adamant and push for breast feeding. Honestly,  I find it easier to breast feed than Bottle feed anyways.

Breast milk has antibodies which help strengthen their immune system. I pumped and formula fed for my first (my milk didn't last long the first time but my son is now 10 and just fine) I will be pumping and formula for this one too.

Breast milk contains the right balance of nutrients for your baby and formula doesn't do that..

Yes breastfeeding is the best option for baby's immune system, digestive system, and also just for a little variety. But formula is made for babies too and will have vitamins and nutrients needed for a healthy baby. If you decide to go with formula I'd try the gentle ones for newborns to reduce gas and upset tummy.

I think formula is just fine- it's come a long way and every kid I know who has grown on formula has turned out just fine. Every family is different and you need to do what works best for you

What's your reason for wanting formula instead?  If you don't mind me asking

Formula is just as good. :) with my first daughter I used that. She was hardly ever sick and grew up fine and healthy. I think breast feeding is good but a bit over rated. With my second I'll try breast feeding and seewhat happens. :)
