Okay, I am a labor nurse. It has nothing to do with your kidneys. .. the way the blood circulates in the adult body goes from your heart out to the body on the left side. Therfore, the way the blood gets back to the heart to get re oxygenated is via the right side of the body. When you lay on the left side it is easier for the blood to return to the heart and get oxygen and go out t9 the body because the weight of the baby in the uterus is not obstructing the great vessel that carries that blood back to the heart. It's all about circulation.
I sleep on both sides, mainly left because I was told it provides better circulation!! But when my hips hurt I turn for relief it's better than being on your back side!
Hmmm u have two kidneys tho. One on each side?!?!?
Cuz ur kidney is on the right side..and when u lay on the right side it puts pressurenon it and it dosnt.work as well..so when u sleep on ur.left it helps with circulation..and keeps u from.swelling ect
Oh OK, I see now thanks....
The baby gets better circulation, nutrients, and it also her u as well as the bby breath better!!! And it's just in case u have twins ... And didnt know it.. Laying on ur right side will cut baby new 2 breathing off!!
