I've had two and will be having a third with this baby. One was an emergency and one was planned. I was awake for both since I'd already had an epideral. Mine went fine with no complications but recover is rough. I could hardly do anything for a week after each of them and i wasnt allowed to drive for 3 weeks. I tried to get an OB to let me try a vaginal delivery with this baby but nobody is willing. So basically my point is C-sections aren't the worst thing ever but it is major surgery and I don't recommend.
A c section of course is not better than a vaginally. My sister with her first baby and after long labor being induced and not being able to push the baby out she had an emergency c section. It went great and they all do, and if you choose to have more kids you can always do a vbac. I do know recovery is a more painful than a vaginally delivery. They will of course give you painkillers
Hopefully things work out an you won't need one, but If you have to have one then there's nothing you can do but it will be fine, but try and tell your doctor it is your last option. Best of luck
It's major abdominal surgery made to seem its like getting your teeth cleaned. Lol. You have to worry about not ripping apart your stitches or staples, and your still bleeding and passing clots. You can't sleep on your stomach for 6 weeks because after they remove your staples you will be terrified. Avoid it if you can. Walk a lot, that usually gets baby to drop. I did major deep house cleaning, and that started my labor with my son. Good luck. Prayers with you.
I had a c section that was not planned and not an emergency (after 40hrs labour only 9 cm)...and it wasn't bad at all. It wasn't scary as i just wanted everyone safe. Recovery was not bad either. Within a week i was doing pretty much everything on my own. The first day or two i needed help in and out of bed, getting baby in and out of crib...but pain was managed only with extra strength tylenol. I had T3's but never needed them. It really isn't that bad. Good luck!
It's not so bad if its planned and not a emergency. Planned ones you can be awake. My first child was a emergency cause my heart stopped and second was planned and I will have my third csection with this one. Do everything they tell you on the after care and the sooner you start walking strait, not hunched over, the sooner you will feel better.
