Baby shower date problem...

My baby is due 6th of February. I have been know to go into labor early.. so if I could go into labor any time after January 6th. So I would normally think a month before the possible birth of baby.

The month before is December and a major holiday and it would be inappropriate to have a baby shower that close to the holiday. Our only choice would be November and I would have to avoid the week of thanksgiving. But is that to early?

This is my sixth pregnancy but first baby shower. My first was a girl and we did not have a baby shower and all four after was also girls so I felt it was inappropriate. This baby is a boy and my sister in law and husband plus a few people I know want me to have one. I feel a little uncomfortable having one but feel it should be appropriate since I never had one and this baby is a different sex. I just can't figure out when to approve the date does anyone have any idea's?

I'm due February 8th with my first and had the same worry. I'm doing mine the 2nd week of November.  My in-laws might throw another one closer to my due date, but I'm not sure. I know the shower seems early but I feel less stressed knowing that it will inconvenience the people that are getting incites less.

I never had a shower before. My first was a girl and was pregnant before I got married and tried to keep it on the low till after we got married and by then I was too far along my family would have known we snuck away and got married at the court house.. since all my kids till now were all girls I felt it would be inappropriate to have a shower... with this being a boy everyone thinks I should... my sister in law is throwing it but my husband kinda took over because he is so excited. My husband and sister in law has asked me to come up with a date. This is what I am having trouble with...

Is the week before thanksgiving too early or should I do the week after? I think the week after would be getting too close to Christmas....
