Cervical sutures

Any mom's have to have had a cervical suture? I have had cervical cancer twice and I finally got pregnant. I am 19 weeks today.  My ultrasound showed am lent of 2.5 inches and decreased with pressure. I am concerned that they are waiting so long before doing anything. Any one else going through this?

1st of congratulations on being a survivor :-)  and on your pregnancy.. Based off of the experience I'm going through, I would say stay off you feet and try to avoid putting pressure on your cervix's as much as possible. I had a full term with my 1st son and so this cerclage was a shock for me. I don't know how but I went from a 4.4 to a 1.9 in 3weeks so had an emergency cerclage put in at 16/17 wks.I'm now at 2.2 and take a progesterone suppository every night 30wks. They kept me over night to make sure the procedure did cause labor, but other then that was on modify bed rest up until I started to feel pulling from the inside since the baby is growing. So I'm now strict bed rest, but I do feel like its really helped. I hope everything goes well with you and your able to stay off your feet.

I just had mine done today. It is acually morw common then you may think. The cervix is a funny thing and could change in length day to day which maybe wby they are waiting. I dont know your situation but trust your doctor and most of all trust yourself if you feel like this say something. Communication is key and its all about you and our baby so dont be afraid to speak up for yourself and your baby. Good luck!

I just went to the dr today, i have had 2 leap procedures in the past...The last one was almost 2 years ago...The dr said today that I'll be having an ultrasound every week to keep an eye on my cervix. And if it starts to thin or anything, I'll have to get sutures.
