Chicken Pox

We have been exposed to chicken pox... My 5 year old had a sleep over at his friends late last week. Then the same friend cam over to our house for a a few hours. His mom called yesterday to let me know he had chicken pox.. My son has been vaccinated(she said her son had too) Anyway I am keeping an eye on my son just in case, so far so good. And I also had chicken pox when I was little. I am just curious if there is any harm to the baby? He will be here in 10 days. I am going to call my dr and ask them, but just wondered if anyone had went through this.

Talked to the ob, they said everything should be fine. Although if my son does happen to get it and the baby arrives, I'm supposed to keep them apart... :(

That's what I figured, but I thought I better ask just to be safe.

My daughter had chicken pox when I was early on in my pregnancy and I asked the doctor about it also and he said if you have already had it preciously you will be fine

As far as I know as long as you have had it then you and baby are safe.  It's when you have no immunity to the virus, contract it, then it can cross the placenta and infect baby.  I asked an infectious disease doctor and that is what she told me.
