My ob said limit ur caffine intake to once a day is fine. Whether its soda, coffee, tea...etc
I have a half shot a day. :) it's my number 1 treat i allow myself. I had NO coffee in my previous pregnancy so i guess I'll know the difference this time around. My first born is VERY high strung. That's without caffeine ;)
I have naturally low blood pressure so that's not a worry. Too much caffeine can lead to lower birth weight for the baby though. So definitely watch your amounts. This includes black and green tea, as well ad chocolate.
Limit of 200 me of caffeine a day. They say alot of caffeine in first trimester links to possible miscarriage. Also when i had my echocardiogram the cardiologist said caffeine leads to irregular heartbeat in the baby.
I linit my caffeine to 100mg or less per day. But I generally do have caffeine daily. I was drinking decaf brewed from home until I read that it's not healthy due to the process it goes through to remove the caffeine. Someone told me it's worse than drinking caffeine.
I drink coffee all day... it is not good but I'm not good without my coffee. Lol.. I have never had any trouble but I know it is thought to cause problems during pregnancy.
A cup a day is just fine.
Drs recommend no more than 200 mg of caffeine a day so that is about a 12 oz cup. Try decaf or half caff!
