Contraception after baby

Hey ladies,
Just wondering what type of contraception you like best and why? Has anyone already had a baby and uses Mirena or another iud? Positive experiences or no?
Also has anyone had a good experience with the depo shot?
Thanks! :)

I had the mirena after my son and had it removed a month later it was very painful during sex and had it removed because it moved down and with the depo it was great but the weight gain was horrible I favor a low dose hormone pill. Good luck

I had the paragaurd for 6 years. No complications. I chose it because it was no hormonal. I didn't have heavy or missed periods. My periods were regular always 4 days.I had mine removed late May had a regular period in June and was pregnant in July. I'm not good with taking pills and I know to many people who get the depo shot and have mustaches and extra weight and the implant just didn't sit right with me. I couldn't get over something being under my skin. So those are my reasons.

I had a really good experience with Depo, got it for a few years before having my first. No periods, no weight gain, no hormonal nastiness, and no unplanned pregnancies. Worked great for me.
I had the Mirena for two years after my son was born and though the lack of periods was nice, after having it for a while I did have a significant weight gain and some serious anxiety issues... I was in nursing school at the time so it certainly could have been situational but after getting it removed my anxiety was much better in my last semester.
After this baby we'll use condoms until after my husband gets his vasectomy. It's his turn to take charge of contraception, and we're ready to be done.

I had the merena. Loved it. It helped with my painful periods. They decreased to just spotting. The merena changes cervical mucus so sperm cannot survive and also prevents ovulation. Also thins the lining of the uterus preventing pregnancy. My main reason was my periods were so painful and my doctor recommended it.

I had the copper iud, paragard. I chose this because I believed it was non hormonal and would only prevent pregnancy. After having it in for about three years and having a very difficult time losing weight I decided to research it further and had it removed shortly after. My periods were so unveleivabley heavy and I couldn't lose the last 10 lbs of baby weight (this is what hormonal bc has always caused me in terms of weight) but it could have of course been coincidental. I was disappointed to find that the iud could terminate an early pregnancy as for my own morals I'm only interested in prevention. I was further disappointed to find that although not hormonal itself, the copped causes hormonal changes in your body. I was happy to have it out and feel better without it... but I am also pregnant with my second now as a result! : )

I had a paragrad Copper T IUD for 10 years (the max) and it was amazing. Non hormonal and the last 4 years or so my periods were every other month. Heavier periods and cramping, but no pregnancy risk due to forgotten pill or missed shot appointment. Occasionally (and depending on position) my bf could feel it during sex. I thought I had felt it move/readjust a couple times after sex but it wasn't painful. Had it removed in late January and was pregnant by late April.
