I've had three children with 3 different doctors and have always been told that no amount is safe. I've also cared for children with FAS and I would never risk it. 9 months is such a short time in the grand scheme of things and to me it seems selfish. Also the effects of drinking during pregnancy don't have to be extreme. They can be something minor like a slightly lower IQ or added difficulty learning. I personal don't want to wonder would my child be having an easier time in school if only I hadn't had that drink.
Pregnancy is a great opportunity to detox and learn other stress reducing techniques. I know women who have had a light beer or small glass of wine with dinner while pregnant and their babies are fine. Ive also met children with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and it's so sad... My personal opinion is what's the point in risking it when it's unnecessary.
I was having company and needed to go to the L.C.B.O to entertain, but was too scared that I would look like a pregnant wino, so that tells you my answer. Lol
I'm glad this question was proposed. Although I am not 25+ I find this forum to be a lot more helpful for me. I will be turning 21 next month and I want to have a glass of wine. I will be 18.5 weeks so all of my baby's vital organ have developed just maturing. What do you all suggest?
I'm planning on having a glass of watered down wine at christmas because I'll be pregnant then and everyone else will be drinking. But otherwise I stay away from alcohol while pregnant.
I had a gf who would dri.k a glass of red wine at dinner. Me.and her both hve the same.doc and she was told it was ok. She wouldnt have it every night.but prob 3 or 4 times a week. Her kids turned out fine but i personally have.cut all.alcohol out during pregnqncy. The only thing ive craved is beer and i dont really even like beer but im gonna wit until this babe is out. I think its ok o have a glass once n a while ijust personally wont do it.
