Dandruff

I never had dandruff problems before pregnancy, but once I entered my 2nd trimester my scalp is dry and I have lots of dandruff. Anybody else have this problem and a solution? Does it go away after the baby is born?

Advice i have received for that is to crush up a prenatal vitamin and add it to your conditioner when you shower. The vitamins a healthy for your hair and scalp. Its a home remedy even when not pregnant.

I've always had problems with dry scalp and my doctor recommended I use baby shampoo because of the lack of perfumes and other chemicals. Seems to be working very well so far, plus I'll always have some around when my new baby is born :-)

Just a question, is it dandruff (oily hair) or dry scalp (no moisture). I'd also like to add that head and shoulders is one of the worst shampoos you can use because of the wax that coats your hair. Maybe try cutting back on shampoos each week and use a moisturizing conditioner if your hair is excessively oily. You can tell its dandruff or dry scalp by the colour and if there is a smell present or not. Dandruff is yellowish and gives off an odour.
