Is anyone going through depression during their pregnancy? I have been restless, having hard times with sleeping and over thinking and constant worrying, excessive crying. I have been feeling this way since before pregnancy and I've been waiting my while life for this beautiful moment of meeting my baby boy soon. I can't seem to find happiness anymore please help

I was the same way depression and anxiety before pregnancy I stopped cold Turkey on my meds when I found out I was pregnant and I am riding it out I don't want to get on medication I want to protect my baby but my dr said it's worst not taking medication that the baby feels the stress hormones. But eventually my depression and anxiety subsided a little and i think it's a combination of hormones too I'm 8 months pregnant and I'm still riding it out some days are good and some are not I'm just happy Im not working and haven't been I actually got fired from my job and that added a lot of stress for me in the beginning but I applied for unemployment and stayed home.  Good luck to you!

Thank you ladies for sharing ur stories. I am 6 months now. And have been this way since before I was pregnant. Iam taking progesterone do it probably adds to it. But I will definitely talk to my doctor Monday because I hate feeling this way. It's totaly not normal. I'm at the worst Ive ever been. Pregnancy should be a happy time for me and well for any woman. I need help to get through it all my lil one will be here before I know it.

I didn't know I had a major depression disorder and anxiety until about a month in a half ago. I started counseling and yesterday I was put on med but I'm so scared my baby will have something wrong after birth. Maybe you should talk to you Dr about options for you. The Dr put me on something that was studied for years so he say nothing will happen since I'm in my second trimester and I can stop if I want.

Yes I have depression. I have had it for 15 years now. I am 20 weeks pregnant, and the Dr wants to make the dosage stronger now as I have been feeling depressed lately, not wanting to do anything.
Talk to your Dr about it.

I was depressed my first trimester With everything my husband and I have going on ( trying to build a new house, his job taking him several states away for 2 months at a time, stuff like that) I just couldnt shake the feeling that this wasnt the right time.. my mom quickly reminded me of a few things and all of which I reminded myself of everyday when I was feeling down. Now that im 21 weeks I have more anxiety than anything. I still cry at times but now its out of worry and fear that I'm doing ( I work on a dairy farm) or eating something wrong or my baby will be affected. I hear you on this issue!! I certainly hope it gets better!!

Could just be the hormones, I was really depressed, emotional, withdrawn, worried and easily irritated in first trimester, but got much better in second trimester... how far along are you?
