Doctor check ups

when do doctors usually start checking the vagina at appointments like week wise? I'm almost 35 weeks and kinda assume it's starting soon & what exactly are they checking for?

They started checking me at 36 weeks, first time i was crampy after. At 37 weeks my doc "broke a band" she said i may have some spotting which ended up being a pool of blood. I would recommend bringing a pad w you just in case. And also started my dilation. 38 weeks today and just waiting on these contractions to get a little closer together.

It depends on the Dr.  I'm 38 weeks and requested not to be checked unless I'm in labor. They did say that if I go past my due date they will have to check me in case I need to be induced they will have to see if I'm thinning or dilating at all.

I am 38+4 weeks and they started checking my cervix at 36 weeks. They check to make sure your cervix is thinning and to see if your dilated any.
