feel like i'm being greedy

My parents are throwing me a baby shower but my mom wants me to do a regestry at babies r us and i know that my husbands family can't afford that hell i can't afford that. So i told everyone to just do what they can but my mom is pressureing me so i made the regestry online so she would stop bugging me. Now i'm getting all these hurtful comments from my husbands family that i'm being greedy i told them they don't have to follow the regestry just let my mom know if they are getting anything so she can mark it off so i don't get doubles. Its just a bit stressful

I had that same problem so I registered at multiple stores. The bigger more expensive stuff I registered at burlington baby depot bcus it was A LOT cheaper. Clothes I registered at kohls bcus they always have sales and the small stuff like baby wash and things like that I registered at babys r us and buy buy baby. It solved the money problem for my family and it made my husbands family happy that I registered at stores they wanted me to.

You said what you can say to get them off your back. If they want to be hurtful about it, it says more about them than about you. Greedy for wanting basic necessities for your baby? What is their problem?

Hmm well your husband's family seems to be the ones being rude not your mother ... she's trying to help you if anything .
anyways , just bc you have a registry doesn't mean that Ppl get those items from their or anything .
Also you could register at like walmart & babies r us , or target and Walmart for example , making two can give them more options . It by no means makes you greedy or means that people have to purchase from the registry , lol unless your putting outrageous items on registration I wouldn't worry about it .
Good luck ! & don't listen to them

I did a registery at babies r us target and walmart just to give out a variety. Try that. I also noticed that some items at target were more pricey then babies rus.....  Also tell them about Ross they have wicked cute plus cheap clothes there. I got a 4 pack of cute animal print boy oneies for 5 bucks the other day. Dont worry i was also hesitant to do a registery at babies rus cuz they r so pricey but remember u dont have to do only one registery. I hope everything works out for u and hope some of these ideas will get your hubbys fam off your back a lil bit.

What items did you put on the registry? Sometimes people put the big ticketed items on there only...leaving off the smaller things like bottles, diaper bag, wipes, etc. Make sure that your registry covers a budget of all price ranges and maybe point that out to them.

Really? I got five outfits at babies r us for $20.  They're always having sales.  They are expensive for big ticket items (cribs, carseats, etc... but clothes are cheap)  I personally didnt register there, I did burlington baby depot (super affordable) and then amazon.  You can have more than one registry.   As for them telling you that you are greedy, that is not their place to say.  Shame on them.

Having a registry does not make you greedy. It includes items of various price range. It also minors the chance of you getting the same gifts several times. Besides there are no rules that says they have to buy from the registry. Just let them know that you'll be happy with whatever they give you.

I'm surprised ur hubby fam even are saying anything. Registry are more guidelines and suggestions. My hubby fam made it clear they were going 2 buy what they want. I had a gender reveal party & his aunts bought all boys clothes bcuz God told them I was having a boy. Well I'm having a boy. Continue to let them no they are under no obligation to buy anything & u will love them the same. Me personally I like registrys bcuz I'm not that creative coming up with gifts. Things will work out.
