Dr. appt. (rant)

Today I had a doctor appt. My husband took time off work to go with me. When we got there they informed us that their computers were down so they could not see patients. They said when computers were back up they would call me to reschedule. So they call me this afternoon and tell me I will be seen next week. What a waste of our time. I don't how many people they were supposed to see today but they are always booked. It is really silly that they are so reliant on their computers that they cannot keep appt or at least call before appt time to cancel. I imagine there are many that are upset that had to take time off work, or get a ride to appt. just to be turned away. Rant over!

The icing on the cake is now my husband can't make the appt time next week. I guess my rant wasn't over, haha!

Exactly everyone's phone number and appt times all in the computer. Technology fails they need a backup plan.

That happened at my old office. Luckily my appointment was in the afternoon and computers were back up by then. I had to wait longer to be seen than usual but at least I got in. Anyhow they are so reliant on computers they couldn't even call the morning appointments bc they didn't know who was scheduled without the computers.

I'd be so upset. My fiancĂ© and I are tight on money,  so if he took a day off and that happened to us...I'd be pissed! At least give a courtesy call like you said! That's so disrespectful and unprofessional.
