EXCESSIVE Weight gain

Hi guys,
Anyone here has gained a lot of weight during the first trimester?
I'm 16 weeks today and 13 pounds heavier. I'm freaking out. I'm trying to exercise as much as my body let me and I'm eating healthy. No junk, only fruits vegetables and low glicemic carbs. Any suggestions?
Thank you.

The thing is that doctors won't tell u that ur gaining too much til ur last months. By then it's too late to try to get healthy. We r not supposed to increase what is normal in a healthy diet until the last months until r supposed to increased by 200 -300 calories only that's like a glass of orange juice. Now sometimes we think we r eating healthy but we r not. There is alot of information abt what r the best foods to b eating. During my 1st pregnancy I gained 60 lbs cuz I didn't eat healthy. I was 21 yrs. I was bed written for the last month cuz I gained so much. Baby was just 6 lbs so all of it was just me over eating. I was in so much pain during the last months n delivery was so hard for me. I had no strength. With my 2nd n this pregnancy I have been exercising regularly n eating healthy. My pregnancies r way better. Aches n pains r minimal n delivery with my 2nd was so easy. I only gained 17 lbs with my 2nd n only gained 11 lbs up to now 25 weeks. Now losing the baby weight after for my 1st took many years, for my 2nd took a month. So I know how important it is do not over do it with weight gain. In ur 1st trimester u should gain from 0 to 3 lbs only. Be careful.

Don't stress about it. With this pregnancy I gained in my first trimester but so far I haven't gained anything in my second trimester. Everyone is different and eating healthy your body will gain what it needs. Your prepregnancy weight makes a difference as well. Just keep eating healthy and stay active and you will be fine!

13 lbs isn't something to stress about, its not excessive. I'm 25 weeks and gained 40 lbs!! If your doctor isn't concerned then you shouldn't be either. Just keep eating clean and exercising. The weight will come off after baby.

I gained a lot of weight in my 2nd pregnancy because I was just so sick and so fatigue. Now, in my 3rd pregnancy I have gained more than I should and I am trying to eat healthy but once again I am sick a lot, fatigue, can hardly get out of bed when I'm really sick. So I hardly get even walking in. With my daughter I was able to loose all the weight and I hope I can this time around too once baby is born.

If your eating healthy, your body is doing what it needs to for your baby. The recommendations are for the mass population, your weight gain is an individual data point.

It's better not to gain weight til the last months ... it'll make ur pregnancy alot easier less pains n aches n easier delivery.. If u gained it in the 1st trimester it's not baby weight since the baby weights just abt nothing in the 1st trimester

I'm very good at eating healthy n exercising. . Give me examples of what your eating in the past 3 days n I'll tell u what is making u gain so much weight. U should've be gaining that much in the beginning. I didn't gain anything in the 1st trimester. Oh n also what does ur exercise routine consists off?

I had the same problem. I spoke to my Dr about it because I was getting concerned but she said as long as the weight was from healthy eating and not junk food, that it was fine :)
