Ease my mind are these real contractions?

i was due April 8th my doctor appointment on the 9th said I wasn't thinning enough to be induced and that I was only 1 1/2 centimeters dilated. This morning April 10th I had my bloody show and I've had really bad period cramps all day. At first they were about 15-20 minutes apart. Painful but bearable they are now 7-8 minutes apart and I lost more plug at 7pm. The cramps are getting more intense and I'm trying really hard to keep track of them because I don't want to be sent home from the hospital. I'm a ftm and I feel like because she's past due everyone is bugging me asking me how I feel and if I'm in labor and all I can say is I think so idk and it hurts. Does this sound like labor and will I be able to hold my beautiful daughter tonight? Thanks in advance

They've been 7-8 for about 4 hours they are inching closer but I haven't called because they always ask you to come in n I don't want to be hooked up to a machine for hours and I don't want to be sent home either. They feel like really bad period cramps but thank you I'm bugging my mom she doesn't know all the answers because she went in after her water broke

It sounds like the real thing. How long have the been 7-8 min apart? More than an hour? You may be in the early stages of labor. Which for ftm can last quite some time and even of u are in labor but only dilated to 1-2 than they may just send u home or give u the option to labor at home where u r more comfy. I would wait until the contractions are a Lil closer the less time u spend laboring at the hospital the better.
