I asked my dr the same thing.  They will check you and see how far into labor you are,  and decide from there if it will need to be an emergency c section or if it will be a normal one.  I was told they won't try and stop labor to wait for the scheduled date.  Could be different tho with your dr.  Best way to find out is ask them the next time you have an appointment.

Did they say why they didn't want you to vbac? If you want to I would get a second opinion from a vbac friendly doctor.

Just that there practice does not do them. i didnt push it then. The nurse practitioner i seen last time said they can not force me to "show up to my scheduled c section i can wait for natrual labor: i dont mind the c section i already have my first battle scar =) i just want baby to come when he is ready not when they have a open date.so i guess my intital question is, has anyone known of having to have a c section and instead of planning a date the go into natrual labor then recieve the c section. thanks for your help

Being able to do a vbac also depends on the reason for the first c section. My baby was breech so I'm a candidate for vbac but my friend had one due to a medical condition so she's not able to try for one.

My first was a c-section and I've had 2 vaginal births since. Personally, I would choose to have vaginal birth every time!  I've found it to be so much better on my body (recovery, milk coming in, weight loss were all faster with vaginal deliveries). If you want your baby to come when they are ready let them choose, not your doctor.  Of course there are medical reasons why a c-section might be necessary, but if that's not the case with you I highly recommend vaginal birth. Some doctors default to repeat c-sections for no real medical reason.  It's your body, though, and you get to choose what happens to it. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself and your baby.

I too have had 1 c section & 2 vaginal births. I agree with kknab completely........ To answer your question though I do know of someone to have had 3 sections. Her first was emergency for failing to progress after pushing for hours. Her 2 subsequent c sections were planned in the sense that her Dr knew she would have the c sections,  but only after her body went into labor naturally.  They never had a set date. She went into labor at home then went to labor & delivery & had the c section.
