Echogenic Fetal Bowel

Hello everyone.
I'm looking for some information on Echogenic Fetal Bowel. I had my 19 week scan yesterday &  was told my baby is small and there was a bright area in my baby's bowel. I have to go to for further testing.
Can anyone please shed some light on this for me? I feel like I'm going into it blind because I just have no idea what it is or what my husband and I are facing.
Thank you

We had 3 echongenic cardiac focus on our 20 week ultrasound. They are a soft tissue marker for downs syndrome, but often times a false positive. They do not cause any damage to the baby and often disappear before birth

It means the bowel appeared bright on ultrasound. It is a soft marker for Down syndrome. It can be associated with cystic fibrosis.(CF). It can also be associated with some type of viral exposure. This finding is an indication for genetic counseling and a detailed anatomy scan with a perinatologist and lab studies to check for viral exposure and CF carrier status. It should only be considered echogenic if it appeared as bright as bone on the scan.
