Echogenic Focus of heart

So I had my anatomy scan today, I'm 19w 6d and my ob advised they found echogenic focus of the heart which is a soft marker for down syndrome. My doctor said if I was his daughter he would tell me to ignore it but I can't.  My options are to get a second opinion for a high risk ultrasound and if they agree with what my ob found I can get a blood test called MaterniT21 Plus that is 99.9% correct to tell me if my baby has downs.  Has anyone else had this? I'm nervous and hoping it's nothing.

Just went through the same thing. I got the second ultrasound and the t21 blood test. My test came back negative and doc said the focus should fade on its own. I decided before my results that either way i was going to raise and love my daughter! Either way your baby is a gift..i know its nerve racking but just keep calm aand know many women have gone through the same experience.

Thank you Tweetie84 I agree either way I will love him.  It's definitely not a reason to not want to continue this pregnancy.  I wish you a healthy little man too and will keep you in my prayers.

I know how u feel I just had a level 2 ultrasound because my Dr thought something was wrong with my placenta but all was well until he said he couldn't see my baby's nasal bone which is also a marker for Down Syndrome I have already had my blood work done for the down's which came back normal but I went ahead and had the same blood work done as u so I'm just waiting for the results but I'm in good spirits because I think it's nothing I refuse to claim it so I won't let it bother me like I did with the whole placenta situation either way I will love him the same it's my first boy so I'm excited about that. I would tell u not to worry but we're human so just stay positive and I pray everything is well for u and u have a healthy baby. Good luck.
