I have used three different kinds and madella was the best least pain less time and expressed more milk and most insurance will cover the hand pump at least some cover the electric too

I prefer (if in case I am forced to pump and not able to latch baby directly) then it would definitely be Medela pump in style, you can plug it in (electric of course) and you can also use batteries, just in case you have to pump at work, in public etc and there is no convenient outlet. You can use it for both breast at the same time or pump one breast at a time.

My insurance provides the Ameda double electric. Online it seems to have about the same ratings as Medela, but only this "hospital grade" model. If you're buying non "hospital grade" I've read the best ratings is Medela. Also, 3 co-workers gave birth in the last 6 months all went with Medela and loved theirs.
