Epidural....yes or no??

Okay ladies sooo I have a 6 yr old and 17 - month old and with both, I had them natural. Only meds I had with both was pitocin and morphine and I survived. This is my 3rd and last baby and I'm due on valentines day. I was thinking about going out with a bang and gettin the epidural this go round just to see how it feels. They refused to give me one with my first cause I had back surgery and they didn't wanna take no chances and with my second I could have gotten it but I said since I did it natural last time I'll do it again. But this time, I'm not feeling the aggravation of dealing with contractions. I talked to my doc about it and she was cool with it, basically saying it's up to me. I'm still debating just wanted some advice!!

I had an epidural with my last pregnancy because my contractions were so intense i was getting sick and couldn't even go pee. I also couldn't lay down cuz it made the contractions worse. I would say see how you feel when you go into labor also your husband doesn't have to push a baby out and go through the pain so no offense to him but do what's more comfortable for you. Lol My baby came out perfectly fine and not drugged up or anything. Good luck.

I just had my little girl and the epidural was a life saver. I have a slightly low tolerance for pain so once it was in I could actually breath through the contractions. It is a personal preference but I found it to help out so much when the contractions got too strong.

Hubby doesn't want me to because of what was said with my first child plus the fact that I went twice without it why get it now?? Lol he'd rather me have no meds at all just for me and baby safety such a sweetheart lol

I had one with both prior labors, neither worked until after the fact!! Both were really fast labors, only suggestion I have, if you are going to just make sure they give it to you in time!! There's no sense in having your back being messed up worse (mine was with the first) and not getting the relief!

Only stories I've heard bad about the epidural was that it didn't work or that it only worked on one side of her body so Idk I'm debating still

I'm definitely getting an epidural. I had my first natural. And I don't see why the hell anyone would choose to go thru all that insane amount of pain more then once?! When you can simply feel nothing. So I'm getting the epidural without question this time around. Good luck ladies!

I'm not sure what to do either! I was set on getting an epidural and then I heard people's horrible stories including my mother, and now I'm not so sure.

That's a personal decision.
I like to have control over my body, I'll be doing it completely naturally in a birth center.  I feel like it will be an accomplishment, and am really excited!

I am due V Day too. And getting an epidural.  With my first I went all natural and with my second I had an epidural.  Things went so much faster and I felt great! I would say get the epidural.
