Evening Primrose oil

Just took my first dose of EPO, im already dilated to 1cm, 60% Effaced. Hopefully this works, the contractions are horrible but not consistant. Has anyone taken it? If so how long did it take to work for u if it indeed worked. Im losing patience! :-)

Im using it to help with the effacement process. I kno it doesnt start labor or n e thing. But with my body once my cervix begins to thin things get rollin on there own. I aslo heard that its good to help with tearing as well. I do all natural births so if it indeed helps with tearing then its a plus.

I agree with mrsreeder2be - Evening primrose oil isn't supposed to get your labour moving along - - - you can use it as a suppository to help soften up your cervix or take it oraly to help with hormones -  if the contractions aren't consistent then it may be false labour so rest of for when it get's going for real.

EPO wont cause contractions or labor. It mainly just helps with the cervix and making labor easier. Try walking, squats, or bouncing on a ball. Those would be more effective.

If you aren't able to rest, try walking or going up and down stairs to get things moving...  Good luck!
